Tetracaine hydrochloride is a highly effective local anesthetic that can revertively block nerve function. It is clinically used for infiltration anesthesia, nerve block anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, etc. Compared with procaine, its local anesthetic effect is significant, and it has been widely used in clinical practice. It is found that the synthesis of the intermediate p-aminobenzoic acid is a key step in the synthesis of tetracaine hydrochloride.
Indications:
Tetracaine hydrochloride is used for mucosal surface anesthesia, conduction anesthesia, epidural anesthesia and subarachnoid space anesthesia. For ophthalmic surface anesthesia, no constriction of blood vessels, no damage to corneal epithelium, no increase in intraocular pressure.
USES:
This product is a long-acting local anesthetic of esters, which is characterized by strong penetration of mucosa, suitable for surface anesthesia, and is often used in ophthalmology without any adverse reactions such as vasoconstriction, dilated pupil and corneal injury after eye drops. Local anesthesia is about 10 times more potent and toxic than procaine. After injection, the anesthetic effect was slow (about 10 minutes), and the metabolism was slow after absorption.
